Police say two armed men kicked in the door of a house on Pleasant Ridge Way in Lexington on Friday morning and assaulted a resident.

The victim told police that he heard a noise at the back door about 4:30 a.m. When he went to check, two assailants armed with a gun kicked in the door. Police say nothing was taken, but the victim was hit in the head. He was taken to UK Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Police say the victim knew his assailants and authorities are searching for the pair.
