A Lexington man who pled guilty to child pornography charges was sentenced Tuesday.
Joseph Robert Leitner, 62, was sentenced to 15 years and 8 months in prison after pleading guilty to one count of receiving child pornography and a forfeiture count that will force him to surrender his home in the Chevy Chase Subdivision. The United States will seize Leitner's home based on the high volumes of images and the length of time he used his home to download and view child pornography.
Leitner admitted to downloading child pornography between March and May of 2008. He also admitted that he had collected child porn images, mostly of teenage boys between 11 and 14 years old, since 2005. Officials said Lietner had about 30,000 images of child pornography on CD's and computers that included children as young as six years old.
