Sheriff's deputies arrested a burglary suspect after a scuffle on Thursday.
According to court documents, two people flagged down an officer and reported a possible burglary in an apartment on Lindenhurst Drive. An deputy confronted a man at the apartment and asked for his name. At that point, the suspect took off running. The deputy caught up with the man and wrestled with him. According to the police report, two bystanders jumped in and helped the deputy until backup units arrived.
Deputies arrested Michael Jesus Reis, 27, and charged him with assault, burglary, criminal mischief, fleeing police and resisting arrest.
Reis was already wanted on an outstanding burglary warrant stemming from an incident in June. According to the arrest report, he was among Lexington's most-wanted suspects.
