Two Taken In For Questioning After Lexington Bank Robbery

Two people have been taken in for questioning, including a suspected robber, after a bank robbery and a short chase in Lexington Monday morning.

The chase started after a bank robbery at the Central Bank on Richmond Road shortly after 9 a.m.

Police said two men fled the scene in a black Camaro. They tracked down the driver and the car to an apartment on Lakeshore Drive, where the man got out and ran, but police caught up with him on Fontaine and Richmond Road.

Witnesses said that man was driving the car that picked up the suspected bank robber at the BP gas station next door to Central Bank. Using that man's information, police swarmed a house on St. Michael, where they found a man fitting the description of the suspected robber.

Lexington Police are investigating to find out if the getaway was planned, or if the man in the Camaro was simply trying to help out and give the bank robber a ride without knowing what he was up to.
