Lexington Police are investigating a theft at a gas station in which almost $3,000 worth of gas was stolen.

The incident happened on or around January 8 at the Marathon on Enterprise Drive. Police say someone stole an estimated 662 gallons of diesel fuel estimated at $2,700.

The incident was caught on surveillance video at the unmanned station on January 8 but was just discovered. The owner says the video shows a Ford box truck with a trailer that likely had a false bottom sitting in the area for 10 minutes before leaving.
