Lexington Police are investigating after a robbery at a hotel early Friday morning.
The incident happened at about 6:30 a.m. at the Ramada Inn on North Broadway. The Inn's manager says an armed man came in, got behind the register, grabbed about $50 in cash, and ran.
The Ramada Inn adds that in attempt to open the register, the suspect hit the emergency button under the front desk that calls the police, basically calling the police on himself.
The manager of the Ramada Inn said there is surveillance video of crime he turned over to police.
The majority of the initial police response was visible in the wooded area between the Ramada Inn near the interstate.
So far, police have not said if this robbery is related to a string of robberies of hotels and motels in the area in recent weeks.
