Police are investigating an allegation of a sexual assault at a Lexington nursing home.
Police say an 87-year-old woman, a resident of the Cambridge Place Nursing and Rehabilitation home, reported she had been sexually assaulted there. Police say the man they are questioning is an employee there.
The nursing home's administrator called 9-1-1 early Friday morning when she heard what the woman claimed had happened.
Cambridge Place Nursing and Rehabilitation said in a statement, "Resident care and safety is our number one concern. We take these allegations very seriously. Upon learning of this allegation, we took immediate and appropriate action, and will continue to cooperate with the investigation. Due to resident confidentiality, we cannot comment further."
At this point, no arrests have been made, but police continue to investigate.
