Update: Police arrested James Nelson Watts IV in Lexington on Limestone Avenue Monday afternoon. At this time, investigators are not releasing details about the circumstances surrounding the arrest.
Lexington Police said Monday that they have obtained an arrest warrant for James Nelson Watts IV in connection to a theft in the Lexington area.
During the last week of January, Lexington Police received theft reports from patrons of various restaurants, bars and other businesses in Lexington. In each of the reported cases the suspect falsely identified himself to obtain access to the premises. While on location the suspect stole electronic devices.
Investigators say they have determined that Watts is responsible for at least one of these theft incidents, specifically the theft reported on January 28 at 3743 Red River Drive.
