Police are looking for the bank robber who stole money from the PNC bank on New Circle near Russell Cave Road this afternoon.
Surveillance images show him from the front, the side, even from above. But the suspected bank robber successfully hides his face with a UK hat.
He's inside PNC bank for a couple minutes, slides the teller a note demanding cash, implies he has a gun, but never shows it, then takes off.
"Right now we've established a perimeter and we have the helicopter circulating," Lieutenant Sam Murdock told LEX 18 this afternoon.
Police brought in K-9s and blocked the side streets. But they didn't catch him.
"From the best we have, the information we've received, is that he left on foot and headed north across New Circle," Murdock says.
Workers inside the bank were shaken up, though police say everyone stayed calm during the robbery.
Police say it looks like this guy acted alone, with no getaway car waiting nearby. They hope someone recognizes the robber and calls police.
LEX 18 looked back in our archives and found this appears to have been the third bank robbery in Lexington so far in 2013. Two bank robberies happened back in January on the same day.
