Lexington police continue to search for three suspects who forced their way into a home and robbed three men early Tuesday morning.
Police say the occupants of a unit of the Old Farm Apartments on Appian Way near Tates Creek Road heard a knock at the door around midnight. The man who lives there answered, and three men forced their way inside. The suspects went through the apartment and took a large amount of cash, cell phones and a shotgun. On the way out, one of the suspects hit one of the victims in the head with a gun, inflicting a minor injury.
Officials say a baby was asleep in a back bedroom of the apartment. The child was not hurt.
Police say the victims waited nearly 30 minutes to call them. Officers say they found marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside, leading investigators to believe drugs could have played a role in the robbery.
