Investigators describe the circumstances surrounding a Lexington man's disappearance as "suspicious."
Alex Johnson, 32, hasn't been seen or heard from since late Friday, according to the man's sister.
Cayce Johnson describes her brother, Alex as "trustworthy" and "dependable." So when he missed a work meeting Saturday and didn't show up to his family's home in Bowling Green on Monday, she knew something wasn't right.
"The last few days, they have just been the biggest nightmare imagineable," Cayce told LEX 18 over the phone Wednesday from her home in Bowling Green. "When he says he's gonna do something or be somewhere he does it and this is not like him, whatsoever."
Cayce Johnson said her brother worked Friday afternoon at his job as a cook on the University Of Kentucky campus. He then returned to his home on North Hanover, where his vehicle still sits outside.
While Alex was on the phone with his girlfriend, there was a knock on his door, his family said. He hung up and never called back.
"He contacts his girlfriend on a daily basis. He talks to his mom and me and other people in the family and he was really looking forward to coming home for Christmas," Johnson said.
Lexington Police have said they still have people to question as they conduct their missing person's investigation.
"I want my brother back," Johnson said. "My parents, they need their son back. They're just, they're completely heartbroken. We all are. Our lives have just been turned upside down."
Cayce Johnson told LEX 18 that a search of Alex's cell phone records indicate he has not used his phone since Friday night.
