Police in Lexington are searching for a suspect after an attempted robbery at a gas station Thursday afternoon.

The incident happened at about 5 p.m at the BP station on the corner of East New Circle Road and Eastland Parkway. Police say the clerk says the suspect had a hand gun, but didn't get off with anything after he fled when he heard the sirens of passing fire trucks.

Police are looking for a white male, 19-20 years old, wearing a dark blue hoodie.
