Lexington police worked three accidents overnight.

Officers arrested two drivers after a pair of accidents along New Circle Road Thursday night.

Police say a woman was approaching Richmond Road when a passenger grabbed the steering wheel, sending the car into the cable barrier around 11:30 p.m. A second driver stopped to help, and a third car plowed into that vehicle. EMS took the driver of the first car, and the driver of the car that hit the Good Samaritan to the hospital. Police say they will cite both drivers for DUI.

And in an odd repeat of the earlier crash, a passenger apparently caused a third accident early Friday morning. Police say an SUV was heading outbound along Tates Creek Road around 3 a.m. when a passenger grabbed the steering wheel, sending the vehicle over a bridge abutment and into a creek. All three people made it out without injuries.
