Snow moved into Lexington Thursday night, leaving a trace to up to 2 inches of snow across the Bluegrass. More snow is expected through the weekend.
Sam Williams, director of Lexington's Division of Streets and Roads, said all crews have been out treating roads and clearing snow since the start of snow. He said the cold temperatures made the effective treatment of roadways challenging. Many side roads remain covered with snow and ice and some treated roads have slick spots.
There are reports of vehicles sliding off roadways, especially on the interstate and the north side of Lexington between Georgetown and Russell Cave.
