Lexington Subway Restaurant Robbed

An armed robber hit a Lexington restaurant Monday night.

Police say two female employees were cleaning up after closing the Subway on Waller Avenue for the night around 11 p.m. They went out the back door and a masked man brandishing a handgun confronted them. He forced them back inside the restaurant and demanded money. The robber ran away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police say a K9 tracked the suspect's scent for about one block. Officers say they think he probably got into a getaway car there.

Police say they hope to release surveillance photos later Tuesday.
