Eight cars sustained damage along I-75 in Lexington after a light pole fell across the highway early Thursday morning.
Police say they think a car lost control and hit the light pole along southbound lanes, near the northern split. The pole fell into the highway and seven other vehicles ran over it, causing various levels of damage. Police credit two motorists with moving the downed pole to the shoulder, preventing any other cars from hitting it.
There were no reported injuries.
Police say they are still trying to figure out exactly what happened.
