Local Gasoline Prices Spike For Holiday

Average retail gasoline prices in Lexington rose 28.4 cents per gallon over the past week, averaging $3.35 per gallon Sunday. This compares with the national average that increased 0.8 cents per gallon to $3.23 per gallon last week, according to gasoline price website LexingtonGasPrices.com.

Prices Sunday stood 32.6 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and 20.0 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. The national average decreased 8.9 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 21.3 cents per gallon higher than this day one year ago.
