UK football coach Joker Phillips says running back Derrick Locke's status for next week's game against Charleston Southern remains uncertain.

Medical staff will evaluate the Wildcat senior as the week progresses.

"We expected to have him last week. We'll see on Tuesday how much strength and how much he can protect himself on Tuesday and Wednesday, Thursday, and then make a decision after that," Phillips said during Sunday's weekly teleconference.

Despite missing the last three games with shoulder stingers, Locke remains the Cats' leading rusher with 574 yards.
