It was a great weekend for Kentucky Lottery players, as several prizes of a million dollars or more were won.
A player who bought a Powerball ticket at Carrollton Chevron on Highway 227 matched the five white balls but not the Powerball in Saturday night's drawing, winning a $1 million prize. The same thing happened with a ticket sold at Pal's in Oak Grove. However, the player spent an extra dollar to upgrade their purchase with the Power Play option, and as a result their $1 million prize increases to $2 million.
On Friday night, a Mega Millions player in Kentucky matched the five balls but not the Mega Ball, winning $250,000. That ticket was sold in Louisville at the Five Star Food Mart 5440 on Hillview Boulevard.
Each ticket should be signed as soon as possible and brought to the Kentucky Lottery's Louisville headquarters for redemption. Winners have 180 days after the date of a drawing to claim their prize.
