That was not the way Joker Phillips or the UK players hoped their season would start, and now they'll be playing catch-up the rest of it to try to make a bowl game.

In front of a record crowd at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium, Louisville had it's way with Kentucky, winning 32-14.

UK's freshman punter, Landon Foster seemed to be a weapon. His kick, a long with Louisville fumbling the ball has the Cards starting their first drive at the one.

Louisville dominates the line of scrimmage and goes 99 yards. Jeremy Wright scores from the one. Then backup quarterback Will Stein hits Marcus Smith for the two points. Louisville led 8-0 after one quarter.

UK comes right back. Max Smith finds a wide open Tyler Robinson for a one yard TD pass. It's a 14 play 75 yards drive. Louisville leads 8-7.

Louisville answers UK right away. Tailback Seniorise Perry bounces outside and takes off. 47 yards later Louisville has a 15-7 lead with 11:03 to go in the second quarter. It's a 6 play 85 yard drive that takes 2:39.

Louisville gets it back and pushes UK around. Jeremy Wright with a 14 yard TD run that finishes a 10 play 93 yard drive to make it 22-7.

A number of former UK stars are upset with what they are watching.

Jared Lorenzen tweets "Man what's up with our "D" need to get it corrected now."

Tim Couch tweets "the defense has to find a way to stop somebody."

Wesley Woodyard tweets "that defense isn't playing hard at all. Someone has to step up."

Third quarter. After Craig McIntosh misses a 42 yard field goal, Louisville makes something happen.

John Wallace, a redshirt freshman kicker from Cecilia, Kentucky hits a 22 yard field goal. It's an 11 play 71 yard drive to give Louisville a 25-7 lead with 8:19 to go in the third quarter.

Joker does something very odd. It's 4th and 14 from the 25. Landon Foster the punter has no shot on the fake at making the first down.

Six plays later it's 32-7. Jeremy Wright takes it in from the one. The 38 yard drive takes only 1:53.

Kentucky finally looks good. In the too little too late category, Aaron Boyd makes a 15 yard catch. Daryl Collins with a nice catch and run that goes 22 yards to the 16. Senior La'Rod King with a 5 yard catch from Max Smith to make it 32-14 with 2:43 to go in the third quarter. The 8 play 65 yard drive takes only 1:54.

UK gets it back and is moving the ball, but CoShik Williams fumbles at the three and Louisville takes over with 11:44 to go in the game.

Kentucky couldn't just muster any offense in the fourth quarter and their defense wasn't much better.
