A Louisville police officer and another driver suffered injuries in a crash along I-64 Tuesday night.
Police say the officer was on traffic duty when the driver of an SUV misjudged the merge distance and rear-ended the cruiser. EMS took both the driver and the officer to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment. Officials say the officer sustained a head injury, but was conscious and alert at the scene. The driver of the SUV suffered neck, back and leg pain.
Police shut down eastbound lanes for a time to investigate the crash. They did not indicate if the SUV driver would face charges.
