Louisville Police Officer Injured In Crash

A Louisville police officer and another driver suffered injuries in a two vehicle accident late Wednesday night.

According to WAVE TV, police say a narcotics officer driving an unmarked SUV west along Caldwell Street around 11:30 p.m. entered the intersection at Preston Street and crashed into a southbound car. The SUV careened into a utility pole. The car came to rest in the intersection.

EMS transported the officer and the driver of the car to University of Louisville Hospital. Officials call the injuries non-life threatening.

A police K9 in the SUV was not injured.

Preston Street is one way southbound, controlled by traffic signals at Breckinridge Street and Kentucky Street. Stop signs control crossing traffic on Caldwell Street.
