LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - The Louisville Zoo is increasing the price of admission by $1 and now charging an additional fee for parking.
Tom Kaferle, assistant zoo director, told WAVE-TV in Louisville (http://bit.ly/ZBqmXs ) that they don't like to raise fees, but they were necessary to offset rising costs and fund upkeep on the zoo for future generations.
Non-members will be charged $5 for parking and an additional dollar for general admission. The parking fees alone are expected to generate a half million dollars a year for the zoo.
General admission is $15.95 for adults and $11.50 for children.
