Police in Madison County are searching for a man they say robbed a drug store.
The incident happened on January 29 at the CVS pharmacy on East Main Street in Richmond. The clerk reported that at about 9:30 p.m. a white male entered the store and shortly thereafter approached the counter with a package of cookies. The man then provided the clerk with some change to pay for the cookies. When the clerk opened the cash register, the man struck the clerk in the face with his hand and reached into the cash register.
The clerk was able to shut the cash drawer but not before the robber was able to grab $18. The suspect fled on foot from the store and could not be located. The clerk was not injured in the incident.
The robber was described as a white male, approximately 6'0" and 200 pounds, short brown hair, wearing a black hooded jacket, blue jeans, and boots.
