A Madison County woman has been arrested for endangering the welfare of a minor following a welfare check on children at her residence Thursday.
Police charged Carrie D. Means, 28, of Rice Court, for endangering the welfare of a minor following a welfare check on children at her residence. At approximately 3:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to Means' residence to provide assistance to social services representative who was conducting a home visit. Upon arrival, officers encountered Means and found her to be under the influence of an intoxicant other than alcohol to the level of being unable to care for two minor children (ages 11 and 3) in the home under her care.
Means was arrested and taken to the Madison County Detention Center. The two children were released to a responsible adult relative.
