A Laurel County man accused of stabbing his girlfriend to death over a trip to McDonald's is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
According to her dad, Pamela Sue Bobbitt, 25, went to McDonald's with her sister. When she returned home to the Plantation Apartments on US-25 in London, her boyfriend, Sean Messer, 34, became angry because she spent money on hamburgers. Bobbitt's father said Messer wanted the money for pills.
Bobbitt's father says Messer attacked outside of the apartment and began stabbing her. Her sister witnessed the attack, along with her two children. Witnesses say the attack continued inside the apartment until Messer finally ran from the scene.
Officials say Bobbitt suffered multiple stab wounds. EMS took her to the hospital where she died.
Officers chased Messer. They couldn't catch up with him, but investigators say they learned his car was at a dealership for service. Officers staked it out, and he showed up with a spare key to get the car about two hours later.
Officers arrested Messer and charged him with murder - domestic violence.
Messer's arraignment is scheduled for 11 a.m.
