A man accused of setting animal traps that killed two dogs in two different counties pleaded not guilty in one of the cases Thursday.
Gregory Tyra is accused of setting a trap on a public street in Montgomery County that killed one dog. Tyra is also accused of setting a trap in Garrard Park in Bourbon County that killed another dog.
Tyra's plea Thursday was in the Montgomery County case. Jacqueline Muth says her dog, Billy Boy, was killed by the trap allegedly set by Tyra.
The Paris Police Department has also submitted complaints against Tyra to the Bourbon District Court judge. The judge ordered a warrant of arrest for Tyra on the charges of first-degree wanton endangerment and first-degree criminal mischief, both felonies.
Police say Tyra admitted to setting animal traps in Garrard Park.
