Police say they arrested a man who stole more than a quarter of a million dollars in political campaign contribution checks.
According to the Jessamine Journal, Michael Parker was arrested this week accused of stealing $274,000 that was supposed to go to the Democratic Governors Association.
Police say Parker worked at a check processing company in Lexington where he used his position to steal the money over a two-year period.
Parker is scheduled to be in court later this month and could get up to 10 years in prison.
