Lexington police had to chase a man down after he ran from a traffic stop early Monday morning.

Police say an officer tried to pull a vehicle over along Ball Park Drive just after midnight. The man slowed down, bailed out of the car and ran. After a short foot chase, other officers joined the hunt for the suspect and they found him about a mile away along Broadview Drive.

Officers arrested William Eason Jr., 38. Police say Eason put up a fight during his arrest and tore an officer's uniform. He faces a fleeing and evading charge, along with several traffic violations.
