Man Arrested After Robbery At Frankfort Intersection

A man was arrested Monday after he allegedly robbed two people after getting out of his car and getting into the victims' car at an intersection in Frankfort.

The incident happened at about 2:30 p.m. at the corner of East Main and Versailles Road. Police say the suspect, Thomas Blankenship, 25, and the victims were stopped at a red light. They say Blankenship got out of his vehicle and into the victims' vehicle, displayed a handgun and demanded "everything they had."

Police say Blankenship got away with a purse, wallet and other personal items. But he didn't get far, because the victims knew Blankenship and were able to give his information to police. Officers aren't sure if it was a coincidence or he knew who he was targeting.

Officers eventually tracked Blankenship down at an apartment complex where he was arrested for robbery and other unrelated charges. He is being held in the Franklin County Regional Jail.
