Lexington Police made an arrest late Wednesday morning after a woman said a man attempted to robbed her earlier in the morning as she sat in her car in a parking lot.
The incident happened at about 8:30 a.m. off Cross Keys Road near Alexandria Drive. Amanda Fayne says she was sitting in her car when a man approached the driver's side and asked her for directions. He then pulled out a gun and pointed it at Fayne, who said she quickly hit the gas and drove away.
Later in the morning, police surrounded an apartment building nearby on Alexandria Drive. They say they wanted to question Joshua Kersky, 32, as a person of interest in the attempted robbery, but say Kersky was uncooperative, causing a brief standoff with police.
Kersky was eventually arrested and charged with criminal trespassing in an unrelated incident in which he had an outstanding warrant on.
