A bullying case has now resulted in charges against the person who was allegedly behind the camera filming the incident.
A student was apparently walking home from Tates Creek High School when he was beaten up and robbed. According court documents obtained by LEX 18, an adult suspect took video of the whole incident, and that the victim even tried to kill himself as a result.
The adult suspect, 18-year-old Antoine Young, is charged with robbery second degree.
Police say that back on August 23 a juvenile victim was on his way home from class, when he reached Gainesway Park. and was approached by young and another juvenile.
The victim told officers he was attacked by a juvenile, suffering minor injuries, and that his backpack and shoes were taken. Officers say Young even filmed the robbery and encouraged the juvenile suspect.
Young was arrested Friday at a home on Trent Boulevard.
As for the victim, he was apparently afraid to go back to school the next week, for fear of being bullied by his alleged attacker and robbed again. Police say the victim tried to hang himself.
Police say the juvenile suspect has been charged, and charges are pending against another man in this case.
Young is scheduled for arraignment Thursday.
