Man Arrested For Murder, Abuse Of Corpse

The search might be over for a woman who disappeared more than a month ago in Pike County.

Jail records show a human body has been found in Sherry Dillon's front yard, leading to her husband's arrest.

Police arrested Bruce Dillon after they say they found a woman's body buried outside his Pike County home. That discovered was made Friday night in Belfry. According to an arrest citation, an investigation led to crews finding fresh dirt outside Dillon's home. It goes on to say, investigators found a canister under that dirt with a deceased woman inside.

Bruce Dillon's wife, Sherry, was reported missing just more than a month ago.

State Police are staying tight-lipped about the case, they are not saying whether they believe Sherry Dillon is the victim. However, Bruce Dillon is charged with murder, domestic violence along with abuse of a corpse.

Dillon declined to speak with LEX 18 on camera from the Pike County Jail. The body found has been sent to Frankfort for an autopsy and positive ID.
