Police make an arrest in the death of a Frankfort woman. Gypsy Reyes was found dead in her apartment on Ewing Court Friday morning. Frankfort police arrested 41 year-old Brian Reed for her murder.
According to police, a friend who was at Reyes' apartment Thursday night told police Reed and Reyes were fighting before Reed kicked everyone out. When the friend went back to the apartment Friday morning they discovered Reyes' body and called 911.
"We're waiting final report from the medical examiner's office but there were apparent signs of blunt force trauma on the body of the victim," says Major Fred Deaton with the Frankfort Police Department.
The investigation is ongoing but police found a 2010 domestic violence order involving both Reed and Reyes, however police couldn't say if the two were still in a relationship.
"She will be loved and missed very well. And we will keep her in our hearts at all times," says Reyes' brother, Danny.
He says the 28 year-old leaves behind two young daughters.
"She has two beautiful kids that don't have a mother now and it's hard not growing up without a parent," says Danny.
Mark Parris lives in the Ewing Court apartment building where Reyes lived for four years. He says he went to high school with Reed.
"I never thought something like that would come from him," says Parris.
"It just breaks my heart that i didn't hear anything or wasn't able to be there for her," he says.
