A Laurel County man has been arrested for catalytic converter thefts from a Clark County business.
The thefts occurred on October 22 at Saunier's Moving and Storage in Winchester. Police say David Messer of Laurel County was arrested in the case Monday morning.
A warrant was issued for Messer after police received information from a viewer stating that he may know the identity of the person stealing catalytic converters from news reports. Clark County police then received information from the London Police Department stating they were working a similar theft and had some catalytic converters sold by Messer in their possession.
The other converters were located and seized at a recycler in Knox County. The converters were transported back to Clark County, where they were matched up with the vehicles the converters were cut from.
