Lexington police arrested Dedric J. Brown, 20, in connection with a Monday morning shooting that took a man's life.
Police got a report of shots fired around the area of Sixth and Toner Streets at about midnight. When officers arrived, they found a trail of blood, but no victim. Three witnesses told police that a man was shot and put into a silver vehicle. The victim later turned up at Good Samaritan Hospital with a gunshot wound to his chest.
Police say that Brown had a verbal and physical altercation with the victim and shot him in the course of the argument. Brown and witnesses transported the victim to the hospital.
Brown was charged with murder.
Investigators have not released the victim's name.
