A suspect is in custody after police chase down I-75 that started in Madison County and ended Whitley County.
The incident began just before 3 p.m. after a Richmond trooper tried to pull over an SUV. The SUV took off, and the chase involving several other police vehicles down I-75 reached speeds of over 100 miles per hour.
Police say they put out spike strips near mile marker 49. The suspect , identified as B.J. Starlight, 56, ran trough the strips, and was eventually apprehended near exit 25 in Whitley County.
Police say that, unfortunately, two semis also had damage due several tires due to the spike strips.
Starlight was taken to the London Kentucky State Police post, but will eventually be transfered to the Whitley County Detention Center.
So far, there is no word if there were any injuries in the incident.
