A man was arrested Wednesday afternoon in Mercer County after he fled from police who were attempting to stop him for suspicion of DUI.
The incident happened at about 2 p.m. Police say James A. Sewell of Salvisa was pulled over at the Whitaker Bank in Salvisa. When police approached the car, they say Sewell took off.
Deputies pursued Sewell across country roads, where the pursuit ended on Paxton Road in Anderson County, when police say Sewell surrendered without further incident.
Sewell is charged with among other charges, DUI, driving on a DUI suspended license and first-degree fleeing or evading police. He is being held in the Boyle County Detention Center.
