An eastern Kentucky man charged with murder and drug conspiracy is scheduled to appear before a judge Friday.
A federal grand jury indicted Eugene Slone in the deaths of David Sparkman, 26, and Keisha Sexton, 18. Their remains were found last July at an abandoned mine site in Knott County. Investigators say both bodies were burned beyond recognition.
According to the indictment, Slone killed the couple in retaliation because they gave information to the police. The indictment also indicates Slone conspired with 11 other people to distribute pills in Knott, Letcher, Clay and Perry Counties.
