Richmond police arrested a man after he assaulted an officer Wednesday.
Police say officers responded to Amberly Way after reports of drunk person causing a disturbance in the area. Police located Junuis Randle Jr., 21, yelling and causing a ruckus in the street. Police say when an officer tried to arrest Randle, he kicked the officer multiple times in the face. Police finally subdued Randle in the back of a squad car.
The officer was treated at a Baptist Health Hospital. Officials did not release information on the extent of his injuries.
Police charged Randle with alcohol intoxication, resisting arrest, assault and disorderly conduct.
