Lexington police charged a man with DUI after a crash early Friday morning.

Police say the driver took a curve along Larkin Road too fast and slammed into a tree. Firefighters had to cut the driver from his seat, and EMS took him to the hospital.

A passenger in the car refused treatment.

Police say they later charged the driver with DUI. Officials did not release his name.
