The man who killed a UK football player almost 20 years ago was involved in a serious car crash this weekend.
Shane Ragland was seriously injured when he flipped his SUV on I-64 in Louisville. Witnesses say Ragland was driving fast around a curve when his Dodge Durango rolled over and he was ejected.
Police say he was not wearing a seatbelt and was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police say he was in serious condition Saturday.
Shane Ragland plead guilty to killing Trent Digiuro in 1994. He was found guilty of murder by a jury but on appeal Ragland plead guilty to manslaughter charges and was sentenced to time served.
Digiuro's family says they have no comment on Ragland's accident.
