Man Crashes Stolen Truck In Rowan County

A man suffered serious injuries when he wrecked a stolen pickup in Rowan County Wednesday evening.

Police say Jeffery Mineer, 42, was driving a Chevy S-10 along Cranston Road near Morehead when he ran off the right side of the road, over-corrected and lost control. The pickup went across the roadway, through a field and a creek, and then slammed into a utility pole, overturning. Cranston firefighters cut Mineer out of the twisted wreckage, and he was airlifted to UK Hospital.

Police contacted the registered owner of the vehicle and discovered that it had been stolen from her property.

At last check, Mineer was listed in serious condition at UK Hospital.
