Lexington police continue to search for the driver of a moped who ditched an injured passenger after an accident early Thursday morning.
Police say the driver of a moped lost control and crashed around 1:45 a.m. along North Broadway, near the intersection with Short Street. The driver took off running, leaving behind an injured passenger. EMS transported the victim to UK Hospital for treatment of a head injury.
There is no word on his condition.
Police describe the driver as a white man wearing a dark shirt, shorts and a white hoodie. He was carrying a backpack. Officers located the driver's jacket near Limestone, but have not found the man.
