The Perry County man who admitted to killing a doctor back in 2010 was sentenced to 40 years in prison in the case Thursday afternoon.
John Combs pleaded guilty to murder back in July. He admitted killing Dr. Dennis Sandlin in Perry County back in 2010. Police say Combs went to Sandlin's clinic for pain killers and threatened the doctor after being asked for a urine test.
Police say Combs left, came back two hours later and shot Sandlin.
According to the judge, the Commonwealth has recommended a sentence of 40 years.
