Man Injured After Pickup Rear-Ends Semi In Lexington

A man was taken to UK Hospital with what were described as severe injuries after a pickup truck rear-ended a semi in Lexington Thursday afternoon.

The accident happened at about 4 p.m. on Paris Pike near Johnstown Road and in front of the Thoroughbred Center. Police say the driver of the semi had gotten out of the truck to inquire about where he was supposed to deliver the hay he was hauling to the Thoroughbred Center when the pickup slammed into the back of the semi.

The driver of the semi was not injured. Police say they are not sure what caused the driver of the pickup, whose name has not been released, to slam into the semi.
