A man was killed after a car struck the motorcycle he was riding in Lincoln County Wednesday night.

Police say Bert King, 41, stopped his Toyota Sequoia at the intersection of Singleton Road and US-150 outside Crab Orchard around 9 p.m. As he merged onto US-150, he struck a westbound motorcycle operated by Jackie Haga, 54, of Bristol, Tenn. Both vehicles went off the roadway and down an embankment. EMS transported Haga to Fort Logan Hospital in Standford where Lincoln County Coroner Farris Marcum pronounced him dead.

None of the six people in the Sequoia were injured.

Investigators say low visibility due to rain may have contributed to the crash. Police say they don't think alcohol or drugs were a factor.
