Man Killed in Madison Co. Crash

A man died in a southern Madison County wreck Tuesday night.

Kentucky State Police state police say William C. Maupin, 47, died after he was thrown from his pick-up truck as it went off the road along US 421 around 7 p.m. Investigators say there were no witnesses to the crash and they don't know what triggered the accident, but it appears the vehicle simply drifted off the road.

The Madison County Coroner said Maupin died at the scene.

Police continue to investigate.
