Firefighters found a man dead inside a burned out mobile home in Russell County early Thursday morning.

The fire broke out sometime around midnight at the home along McClendon Road. The coroner says a 49-year-old man and a cat died in the blaze.

Officials have not released the victim's name.

Firefighters have not determined the cause of the fire. Fire investigators are expected to return to the scene later Thursday morning.
