A Madison County man charged in a deadly fight in 2010 has made a plea deal in the case.

Mitchell Turner pleaded guilty to an amended charge of first-degree manslaughter. He was originally charged with murder in the death of Gary Deaton. Deaton's family says the men were good friends, but Deaton just came out on the wrong end of a fight.

Formal sentencing for Turner is set for November 8.

Turner nearly died in a 2006 home invasion in Madison County that left a woman dead.
